“A Place to Sit”
A poem by Moiré, dedicated to the great Maya Angelou
I’ve sat on a chair,
I’ve sat on a sill,
I’ve sat on the floor,
I’ve gotten a chill.
I’ve sat on a shelf,
I’ve sat in the sink,
I’ve sat in a pan,
and made quite a stink.
And now I’ve determined,
the best place to wait,
is where you will see me,
on your cheap dinner plate.
