November 8, 2013

Justin: Welcome to MPA’s TechTable. I’m Justin.

Diana: And I’m Diana.

Justin: And we’re your hosts. We’ll be serving up a heaping spoonful of all things tech.

Diana: We promise: it’ll be easy to digest. Hi.

Justin: Hey, it’s Friday.

Diana: That’s right. My favorite day of the week. I think everybody who’s been listening to TechTable though knows that so you’re probably getting tired of hearing me talk about it.

Justin: Fridays. No. People love to hear the sound of your voice, my dear.

Diana: Shucks.

Justin: It is Friday and it’s favorites day. We do Friday faves here at the TechTable. So we go around the office, actually Diana goes around the office, asking all the MPA team their favorite things.

Diana: I do literally go around the office and say, “Think fast. Tell me your favorite so and so. Such and such.” Sometimes I do email though.

Justin: You don’t come into my office and ask me anything.

Diana: You won’t tell me.

Justin: Well, that’s probably true.

Diana: You tell us on the air though.

Justin: I do.

Diana: It’s an element of surprise.

Justin: There’s not going to be any favorites here on this first one. It’s ice cream flavor or treat. I don’t eat ice cream because I can’t have that much calcium.

Diana: Well, if you had to.

Justin: If I had to? If I was forced?

Diana: If somebody’s forcing you to eat ice cream what would it be?

Justin: Go through some of these first because I have to think about this.

Diana: Chris likes, we got everybody on this one, Chris likes mint chocolate chip. It’s pretty standard. He likes that. David: dark chocolate Snickers, is what he says. And then John, of course, made me laugh. First he tells me he likes the green apple twist. I said, “Well, I don’t know what that means.” There’s a flavor burst which is the basic vanilla ice cream with a stripe of flavor around the outside. It’s like goo. It’s green apple. And then he said, “Oh, and add sour gummy worms to that.”

Justin: That’s impressive. And then you said?

Diana: Chocolate chip cookie dough Blizzard with marshmallow cream.

Justin: Which I could have guessed because you are a huge fan of that.

Diana: Oh, yes.

Justin: Jodie likes the twist cone. She can’t quite make up her mind apparently.

Diana: She said, “Oh, this is going to sound boring. Just twist.” I said, “No. that’s a classic.”

Justin: That’s a classic. Tim likes the Twix ice cream. Nathan likes the mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich.

Diana: See. I wanted people to be specific.

Justin: Growing up I couldn’t have…my grandma would put ice cream…she’d have a box of ice cream sandwiches in the freezer and I would try to go after them. And boy, she had like laser sights on that thing. You could not touch her ice cream sandwiches; like the government no-fly zone. Then Donny said vanilla sundae with marshmallow

Diana: Oh, he’s another marshmallow guy.

Justin: Absolutely. And then there’s my name there with a bunch of question marks behind it.

Diana: I didn’t know.

Justin: I’ve got to tell you, I’m going to back to my childhood when we used to go to Dairy Queen. It was a big time when you’d go to Dairy Queen back in the 80s. It was. It was a big time. We’d go to Dairy Queen and I would one of those brownie delight sundaes. It’s like a hot fudge sundae with the brownies inserted into it. Those are the kind of brownies that are deadly for you; they were filled with oils and things. So good. And whipped cream and nuts and cherry. Which I just can’t eat now. That’s would be. There you go.

Diana: I will see you later. I’m going to go get some ice cream now.

Justin: Yeah, right. Exactly. But before you leave, Diana, we’ve got to talk about vehicles, some favorite vehicles.

Diana: Yeah. Chris likes the VW microbus. I don’t know if he ever had one or if he just likes it. If he wants one but if you’re looking to buy Chris something get him…

Justin: John’s absolute favorite car of all time is a 1969 Chevy Camaro SS with the 396 BBK. Yeah. That’s awesome.

Diana: I don’t know what that means.

Justin: I don’t either. But he likes that.

Justin: Great. And David says he likes his current ride which is a 2012 Dodge Durango RT. Plenty of space, hauling capacity, not terrible gas mileage. That’s a smarter option. What do you like?

Diana: I like my car.

Justin: Right. Which is a…

Diana: I have a Mercedes C300.

Justin: There you go. You like your Mercedes. I’m driving your old Nitro. Anyway, enjoy your weekend. Until next time.

Diana: Take care.
