Justin: Welcome to MPA’s Tech Table. I’m Justin.
Diana: And I’m Diana.
Justin: And we’re your hosts. We’ll be serving up a heaping spoonful of all things tech.
Diana: We promise: it’ll be easy to digest. Howdy, Justin.
Justin: Howdy, Diana. Are we going country today?
Diana: I don’t know. It’s just Monday. I’m trying to brighten things up.
Justin: It is Monday. It is Monday. Did you have a good weekend?
Diana: Of course.
Justin: Did you stay out of trouble?
Diana: No.
Justin: Yeah. Probably not, knowing you. You have very innocent trouble though; that’s the thing about you. But it is Mail Monday where we go into our inbox. Listeners can always write in. You can always write in to us. And what’s the address, Diana?

Justin: That’s right. So send us your questions. This is an interesting question we get often and it’s about this time of year. What kind of cool tech gadget can I buy for my friend or my loved one for the holiday season?
Diana: But not going to break the bank. We all have a budget to stick to.
Justin: You can easily spend…I was looking at iPhone accessories in the Apple store this weekend. It was very interesting. There was a price difference; all of a sudden we were from $100 and less to 2,000.
Diana: Oh, goodness.
Justin: I don’t even know what these accessories were for. Very interesting stuff. What we suggest, one of the neatest little gadgets you can get is an Apple TV. It’s not an actual TV. It’s a component and with this device you can stream Hulu and Netflix which both of those things are to watch television and movies. You can listen to music of course. What else can you do with an Apple TV?
Diana: You can rent movies. Access the internet.
Justin: Really? So there’s a browser?
Diana: Yeah. It kind of just turns your TV into a computer and some people can set this up through their Wii or Play Stations and Xboxes to gather a lot of these things too. But if you don’t have a gamer then Apple TV might be right for you. We had Google TV at one point too, I think.
Justin: We’ve tried all these things out. Actually you do a lot more with it than I do. I don’t have a huge tolerance for a lot of gadgets honestly because a lot of them are fads. Like Google TV. No one really even had that; it was very minimal and we had it for a little while. But then Apple TV though, this is the second year I think that we’ve recommended it as a gift idea.
Diana: How much does it cost?
Justin: It is 150 bucks.
Diana: It’s not cheap but it’s not $2,000 expensive. It’s still attainable for one of your loved ones.
Justin: It is. It is. It’s something you can have a lot of fun with. You can pick it up at of course anyone that carries Apple products both in Apple stores and online. And then you can pick it up at MPA and various other retail stores. It’s an interesting little gadget. We actually have one that we’ve never actually hooked up.
Diana: I’m planning to do that shortly.
