It’s no secret that this precious kitty cat loves the state in which he lives – IOWA!

I’ve traveled far and wide throughout my life and found no greater home than the Hawkeye State. From the flat cornfields of northern Iowa to the gently rolling hills of southern Iowa, the vibrant cityscapes of Des Moines and Iowa City, to the mighty majesty of the Mississippi. We have a beautiful home that encompasses many of nature’s most glorious rites.

Still, even with these natural treasures, I wonder what makes this little state such a precious jewel, for nearly every state is touched by the hand of creation. It is, without a doubt, the spirit of the Iowans that live within these borders that make her like no other. Easterners will tell you Iowans move slow. I tend to believe that we are ‘thoughtful in approach’. We are heartfelt, passionate creatures. Meredith Willson said we have a stubbornness, a pride; I prefer to call it our ‘sense of joy’. There is a sense of joy when you know you come from a place where things are never handed to you. A place where you have to work for your dreams and know that you can realize those dreams through passion and drive.

Iowans are enterprising. Iowans are smart. Iowans are spiritual. Iowans are talented. Iowans are progressive. Iowans are hungry. Iowans are good. Iowans are kind. Iowans are motivated. Iowans are true. Iowans are Iowa.
