Traveling? I can help, of course.

Shelly wrote in to ask the following question:
“Moire, you seem to travel a lot. What are some of your favorite travel websites?”
Shelly, thanks for writing in. I see you follow my travels, thank you for that! I do find myself venturing around the country quite frequently. Many believe that traveling is a headache, and I agree – IF you don’t have the proper websites and pieces of technology to make your experience all that it can be.
A couple of my favorite sites to book hotels and flights are Expedia and Travelocity. I use them regularly to find the best deals. I also check out Google for reviews on hotels. A word to the wise: always throw out the best review and the worst review. The best could be submitted by the hotel and the worst by an angry ex-employee. People can be so vindictive!
Now, the generations before us used a thing called a ‘road map’. I guess it was a large piece of paper with a map on it that was folded down into something you could carry around easily. The newer, hipper kitty generation uses Google Maps and SIRI on the iPhone to get around. I often just say to SIRI, “Take me to…………..” and she instantly finds where I currently am, then gives me turn-by-turn directions to my next locale. Brilliant technology that works ALMOST anywhere in this great country of ours!
Finally, once I arrive at my destination, I use YELP for reviews on restaurants and other entertainment venues. It is most helpful to see what other common cats are saying about the hot spots in town!
As you can see, traveling can be less stressful and made easier with the right technology and websites! Enjoy and be safe my fellow mammals!
