Donnie’s Favorite Part of Today = You!
August 22, 2014
What can we say about Donnie? He’s everybody’s friend, in short. An all-around nice guy (and insanely smart, to boot!), Donnie will truly go above and beyond to help whenever, wherever needed. No question or request too big or small for him! We know you’ll enjoy reading more about Mr. Harding.
What is your title and what do you do at MPA? Well, this has changed a lot since I first started here 2.5 years ago. I was initially working in Web Development as part of the Creative team. Now, I am an Administrative Assistant, IT Project Manager, Trainer, and Sales Associate. One might say I wear many hats, ha!
As to “what do I do?”, I handle a majority of incoming traffic, responding to every ticket sent to support and routing it to the proper recipient. I handle application support for CCW and Tymeshift, and also manage customer service, ensuring everyone who calls or comes in has a pleasant experience. In addition, I handle billing each week, field customer questions, offer trainings on many things from Office, Windows, Mac, and even some WordPress; just about anything you might need!
I know you get all sorts of questions from the public. And, certainly, NO question is silly! What is one of the most frequent questions you are asked? You are 100% Correct. NO question is silly, I have people tell me all the time how ignorant they are with computers or how poorly they are at using them. That is just not the case! What I truly value is that those who call me looking for assistance are people who want to learn more and get more out of their technology.
As to the most common question I get, it probably relates to this: “My computer has pop-ups. What happened? Why is it so slow/not working at all?” The answer is almost always Malware. Dunh Dunh Dunnnnhhhh… Virus protection does not stop most malware. Malware is almost always user caused. What that means is someone clicks “Agree/install/OK” on the wrong thing and now you have an ad popping up. MPA equips our customers’ computers with tools and programs to help prevent malware from downloading.
What’s your favorite part of today? What is my favorite part of today? HA! The fact that you ask this question, Diana, makes me smile. You already know it, but our readers may not…I regularly ask people this question for mainly two reasons:
1) Many people have trouble finding the good parts of a day. They focus on the bad things that happen and the good things get pushed aside. Taking a moment to ask yourself what your best, or favorite, part of today will really make you smile – and that’s what I aim to do!
2) The other reason I ask this is I love learning about people. I like knowing more and making a personal connection with whomever I meet. I think it helps my ability to serve them.
We think so, too, Donnie. :)
