Justin: Welcome to MPA’s Tech table. I’m Justin.

Diana: And I’m Diana

Justin: And we’re your hosts. We’ll be serving up heaping spoonful of all things Tech.

Diana: We promise it’ll be easy to digest.

Justin: Well, It’s Thursday. We’ve made it this far.

Diana: Yes, it’s Thursday.

Justin: We’ve made it this far [jingle].

Diana: [jingle]

Justin: That was not where I was going but pretty good, pretty close. Alright so it’s Thursday and for theme Thursday we’re talking about vacation planning.

Diana: Yes, yes, yes because it is vacation season now.

Justin: It’s vacation season where we live you know.

Diana: Although I think every season is vacation season. Why not.

Justin: Oh, yeah you could take some nice vacations in fall or winter but you know most people take their vacations. Their kids are off from school and that sort of thing. So vacation planning, you’ve got an idea here that we should go to. Trip tuner.

Diana: Triptuner.com that’s T-R-I-P-T-U-N-E-R dot com.

Justin: Triptuner. It’s a site that recommends vacations destinations based upon the seven preferences that you set or tune.

Diana: Yeah, this is pretty cool. So first you can set a specific location whether it be city or you can go more broad based like a continent.

Justin: Wow

Diana: Yes, yes, and then there are a series of sliders okay. Kind of think about if you have an equalizer on your stereo system like sliders.

Justin: Yeah,

Diana: Yeah, okay so you set your sliders moving close to one end or the other of the spectrum.

Justin: Right, exactly.

Diana: So, there are several categories that can go relaxing on one end of the spectrum to active and you take your slider or you tuner and you go if you want to go climbing Mount Everest you’re going to want to go more active, if you want to do something more like laying on the beach your going to go more to the relaxing end of things.

Justin: Absolutely.

Diana: Other sliders they have are adult or kid friendly

Justin: Right

Diana: Bikini to parka, so cold or hot you know

Justin: That’s fun.

Diana: Yeah, they put it in a more specific type of terminology here.

Justin: Sure and then beach or mountain. Urban lively or remote and quiet.

Diana: Yes you want to go to the city or the country right. [Laugh]

Justin: Yeah, and then you’ve got high end or thrifty.

Diana: Yes, some people.

Justin: You’d max that sucker out on high end wouldn’t ya.

Diana: You’re feeling sassy today.

Justin: [Laugh], just a little bit.

Diana: Sometimes I think it’s nice and it kind of a challenge to see how thrifty I can be.

Justin: Well, I’d like to see that, when do you do that.

Diana: When you’re not around.

Justin: Yeah exactly that’s when you’re spending out of your own pocket..

Diana: My own pocket book.

Justin: Your own pocket book there.

Diana: It’s like a game.

Justin: [Laugh] Just kidding.

Diana: [Short laugh] so anyway as you adjust the settings, recommendations will automatically appear at the top of the page.

Justin: That’s cool.

Diana: Yeah, it’s a really great way to discover locations that you otherwise may have never considered.

Justin: That’s really cool.

Diana: Just based on some of the things you would want to do. But see I would have a hard time because see, I like all of that stuff.

Justin: Yeah.

Diana: I kind of let you decide when we go on vacation.

Justin: Yeah, you say it’s best to let me decide. I don’t know what that means exactly.

Diana: You tend to have more specific preferences.

Justin: That’s true I do. On some vacations I really want to be relaxed. Others I really want to be active. You know and I’d almost never choose kid friendly because I’m not a kid and I don’t really like groups of children running around during vacation. I’m a little old and stodgy that way.

Diana: [Laugh] Well, that rules out Disney World.

Justin: Yeah, that’s where we haven’t gone because I just am not. But they say that’s very friendly for Adults and all kinds of people and it probably is. I’m a little stick in the mud sometimes at those. You however would choose active, kid friendly, bikini, beach, urban, lively and high end.

Diana: That sounds good, lets go. [chuckle]

Justin: Yup, there you go, exactly what I thought.

Diana: Let’s book it.

Justin: I nailed that one which I would gladly go with you.

Diana: Aww

Justin: Until next time.

Diana: Take care
