Justin: Welcome to MPA’s Tech table. I’m Justin.
Diana: And I’m Diana
Justin: And we’re your hosts. We’ll be serving up heaping spoonful of all things Tech.
Diana: We promise it’ll be easy to digest.
Diana: Hello
Justin: Hello, Diana its Thursday here at the tech table.
Diana: We have different themes on Thursday.
Justin: Yeah its theme Thursday and since you know its the holiday Season We’re going to talk about Thanksgiving decorations.
Diana: Ahh this is a good time to do that we’ve got another week yet so.
Justin: Yeah I don’t know what you need to decorate for Thanksgiving.
Diana: Well, just to feel festive.
Justin: I always feel festive. You give me a turkey and I’m happy. That’s pretty much what it’s about but okay I’m sure you have some really creative cute fun things to do.
Diana: Well, I was looking up some good kids crafts ideas, now I don’t have kids yet.
Justin: Right, neither do I.
Diana: But I do like doing kids crafts myself.
Justin: Our engineer is cracking up. I love it.
Diana: And I’m ignoring.
Justin: Your ignoring our smart remarks but yeah we don’t have kids but okay yeah so anyways there are great fun things for kids to do.
Diana: Yeah and I’m not the most crafty person in the world. I mean I enjoy it and I’m actually decent at it but I just don’t do it that often so anyway enough about me. One of the first things that came into my head when I was thinking about Thanksgiving crafts was back in the day, I don’t know if you did this Justin where you traced your hand and the tracing around the thumb part you made that like the neck and the head of the turkey.
Justin: Alright
Diana: So you would like color it in and then your fingers were the feathers like the tail feathers.
Justin: Yeah absolutely.
Diana: Yeah you remember doing that.
Justin: Yup I remember that
Diana: And you just color it in however you want so markers crayons. What was your choice?
Justin: Usually I used crayons I think, I was a crayon guy, but I like the big box. I liked the big box of crayons that had like.
Diana: I like colored pencils. Oh you mean like 64 or even bigger.
Justin: Well I mean if I could have got mom to buy a like 96 one. Don’t they go up to like 128 or something these days .
Diana: Yeah I don’t know for sure but they make them yeah and then they had the build in sharpener.
Justin: Oh yeah that was cool, I use to sharpen it just to get the shavings though. I just thought it was fun.
Diana: Okay.
Justin: Yeah I know, this is why mom didn’t buy me the big boxes of crayons.
Diana: Ruin your crayons.
Justin: I digress, moving on!
Diana: Moving on, moving on, you know we always like to incorporate Tech here so there’s a website, HGTV which I don’t know if you watch that network if you have cable but its one of my favorites.
Justin: Yeah home and garden television right HGTV.
Diana: So if you go there through a basic search there is one here that is through like the hand made crafts and then Thanksgiving kids crafts you know and they have pictures for everything so there is a really cool one I saw it’s like a placeholder or place card if you’re going to have seating that is essentially assigned. You just have simple little elements like a clear plastic cup and fill it with either Malted milk balls or maybe chocolate covered espresso beans. Those are good, right.
Justin: Wow, those are good
Diana: Or reasons, they kind of look like they maybe they could be those little reasons and then put a little picture of a turkey face on one end.
Justin: They are cute though. They are cute. I’m looking at it, it’s cute.
Diana: It is cute! and then cut out some feather shapes from construction paper and write the name for whoever and put that on the back.
Justin: Because that’s the turkey tale is that what you call it?
Diana: I think so.
Justin: I guess that’s close. Tail feathers.
Diana: I’m sure someone out there knows and they can write in and let us know.
Justin: I know we didn’t raise, we had chickens on the farm but
Diana: Not turkeys? so
Justin: Nope, no turkeys.
Diana: So that’s a place holder, there’s some really good other little crafts. Paper straw necklaces. Paper leaf. Centerpieces again with branches from the yard, cut the paper leaves and then paste on the ends of the twigs and then put it in a vase.
Justin: Oh that’s cool, yeah so those are all HGTV.com yeah so some interesting decorating ideas excellent, well thank you Diana for sharing that with us. Until next time.
Diana: Take care
