Justin: Welcome to MPA’s “Tech Table” I’m Justin…

Diana: And, I’m Diana…

Justin: …and we’re your hosts. We’ll be serving up a heaping spoonful of all things tech.

Diana: We promise it’ll be easy to digest!

Justin: It’s Wednesday.

Diana: That’s right.

Justin: We’re going to talk about one of my favorite days of the year today. That’ll be Thanksgiving.

Diana: My birthday?

Justin: No. Thanksgiving, sorry. Your birthday is like fourth on my list or something like that, I don’t know. Thanksgiving is a great time to get together with your family, spend a couple of days with them. Maybe four days. By the end of that four days, yeah, you know all about that. Family is a beautiful thing.

Diana: No, it is, it is.

Justin: But we all know that sometimes they can get a little unnerving. We have a big house, actually. That way, we can hide in different locations. That’s the idea. So, anyway, back to Thanksgiving. It’s the food that I’m really excited about. Family’s great, but food is better. Now you’re giving me a dirty look.

Diana: I don’t know.

Justin: I don’t know, but the idea here is that, on the web, you can get all sorts of Thanksgiving help, and that would include things, here, Diana, why don’t you talk about allrecipes.com?

Diana: allrecipes.com is a great website for when you want to get on and get some recipes. You can bookmark those, you can print them off, however you want to use those recipes yourself. But, if you search for the word ‘thanksgiving’, there’s some highlights that come up, and one of the first videos that we see here is how to have a stress-free Thanksgiving.

Justin: Must be in a hotel somewhere near a beach. Just kidding.

Diana: No, I’m sure it talks a lot about planning ahead, preparedness and making it comfortable.

Justin: Have you been planning ahead?

Diana: No.

Justin: Oh, I figured you and Ma had a plan.

Diana: We do not. Well, she probably does.

Justin: Yeah, I bet she does.

Diana: I plan to go there.

Justin: Right, exactly. We still go to my parents’ house. That makes Thanksgiving pretty easy. I’m an only child.

Diana: And, a lot of times, we decorate for Christmas after the Thanksgiving meal.

Justin: We do, and that’s a good tip. There’s a Thanksgiving tip for ya.

Diana: Work off your calories.

Justin: We put up 200 feet of real evergreen garland on the outside of our house, so yeah, do that after you eat Thanksgiving dinner. That’ll keep you moving, that’ll keep things digesting properly.

Diana: And, then, you have more food after.

Justin: Absolutely.

Diana: So, again, on that allrecipes.com, you’re going to find videos, you’re going to find recipes, obviously, how to cook a perfect turkey, I see, is pretty cool.

Justin: I wonder what a perfect turkey really is. I mean, is it really juicy?

Diana: It’s really smart. Really good looking.

Justin: What? Oh, I don’t think that’s true. There are other things on there, too, like make-ahead turkey gravy, so make turkey gravy ahead of time. Is that what it means?

Diana: Yeah. Being prepared, again.

Justin: Okay. And then, roasted garlic mashed potatoes. That’s a big hit. My dad, he goes to a restaurant, and he expected roasted garlic mashed potatoes. If they don’t have it, he’s very angry. So, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, Grandma’s green bean casserole, which I know you’re a big fan of green bean casserole. Cranberry sauce, that’s a thing my grandma always liked to have.

Diana: Out of a can’s good, but if you’ve ever had homemade…

Justin: The other place to go that I want to note, is bhg.com, and that’s Better Homes and Gardens, and search for ‘thanksgiving’. There’s some great things there, too, about videos on cooking broccoli, roasting vegetables, cooking sweet potatoes, which I love. So, there’s so many things. Also, southernliving.com. So, there are a lot of places you can go online to find a lot of great information. Have a wonderful, stress-free Thanksgiving.

Diana: That’s right.

Justin: Until next time…

Diana: …take care!
